The prerequisite for taking part in a swimming course for children or for beginner swimming is a so-called course preparation session. This full hour lesson is intended to help both parents and children alike as an orientation that prepares them for the upcoming swimming lessons. The main goal in this phase is to build groups that are equal in performance. The cost of this course preparation session is € 55 per participant. The course preparation session is limited to a maximum of 6 participants, which are supervised by 2 swimming instructors. The lessons include:
- Coordination Test
- Water acclimatization test
- Psychomotricity test depending on the age of the child
- Swimming lessons
- Evaluation of the data and performance communication to the parents
After the course preparation session, you will receive a detailed description of the performance of your child as well as a recommendation for a fitting swimming course. Information on the procedure of a swimming lesson: On the day of the lesson, please come to the swimming pool. The course supervisor will already be waiting to welcome you there and will explain the process. We would like to ask you to be there a few minutes (approximately 10 minutes – max. 15 minutes!) earlier so that the lesson can start on time. The children need to bring their own swimwear, as well as a towel or bathrobe. The swimming lessons will take place without an accompanying person being present. This means that all children will be collectively greeted and welcomed by the instructors of the H2O Prasler swimming school in the locker room.

In order to ensure optimal care and supervision, only course participants and course teachers are present in the swimming pool. During the swimming course, parents have the opportunity to watch the swimming lesson from outside of the swimming pool area, such as from the visitor’s terrace, for example, and receive further information on the future of the course. After the swimming lesson ends the children are accompanied back to the locker rooms and handed over to their parents. Information on the regular group swimming course: The first swimming technique our beginners learn is the breaststroke. With the help of various swimming-aids in the swimming course for children, everyone is able to participate actively in the water right from the start. This way swimming is learned much quicker by actively practicing it immediately. We see great advantages in the initially taught swimming technique, the breaststroke:
- The children do not have to be accustomed to water from the start, since the head stays above water with this technique.
- Water acclimatization occurs naturally during the course, and therefore is not required beforehand as a prerequisite.
Through our large variety of games, jumps and materials, the children are introduced playfully and step by step to the water and learning how to swim. The swimming course includes 10 lessons of 45 minutes each, with max. 11 children and two competent swimming instructors. The aim of the beginners', adepts and freestyle-certificate courses is learning the breaststroke technique. By learning the correct arm and leg movement of the breaststroke with appropriate aids, the participants eventually learn to swim independently. As already mentioned, we place a particular emphasis on safety - since not only being able to move about in water is important, but the correct handling of possibly dangerous or hazardous situations as well. Water acclimatization, diving and keeping your head above water are indispensable and elemental techniques that ensure a long-term "success" in water activities.
